Put one of these on your own website

Every calculator below can sit on your site instead of ours. Copy a snippet, paste it where you want it, and the figures stay current on their own — including the morning a state re-indexes its brackets. There is nothing to sign and no account to create.

Why we give them away

An embedded calculator earns its keep on your page, not ours: the enquiry that would have bounced to a search engine stays with you. What we get back is the attribution line, and the chance that somebody who trusts the number goes looking for the working behind it.

The Australian market for these widgets is otherwise a paid one — AMP licenses its stamp duty calculator from a vendor, and most agency websites get theirs bundled with the template. We would rather more people saw correct figures than charged a subscription for them.

The arithmetic is not a marketing claim. Every schedule is read from the revenue office that publishes it, every duty engine is pinned by automated tests to that office's own worked examples where it publishes them and to its schedule where it does not, and each page carries the date it was last checked. When we get something wrong we write it down in public, and the methodology page sets out how the checking works.

The terms, in full

Keep the attribution line visible. It is two links in small type directly under the frame. Both carry rel="nofollow", so nothing about your own site's standing in search changes by adding them.

Do not alter the figures. Move it, resize it, put it behind a tab — but a result that has been edited can no longer be checked against the schedule it claims to come from, and the attribution would then be vouching for something we did not compute.

Commercial use is fine. Brokerages, agencies, law and conveyancing firms, accountants, and property managers are all welcome, including on pages that carry your own advertising or lead forms.

It can be withdrawn, but not quietly. If a widget is ever retired the frame will keep working and say where the calculator moved to. Nothing on your page will break without warning.

Where to go next

Frequently asked questions

What does it cost, and what is the catch?
Nothing, and there is no account to open. The arrangement is that the attribution line stays where the snippet puts it, so a reader who wants the full working can find it. That line is the entire payment. Nobody at this end needs your email address to switch anything on — copy the code and it works.
Will this help or hurt my own search rankings?
Neither, by design. Both anchors carry rel="nofollow", which is what Google asks of any link handed out through a widget, so no ranking signal moves in either direction. Sites that distribute followed links this way risk a manual action; we would rather the tool earn its place by being useful on the page it sits on.
What happens when a rate changes on 1 July?
The figures move on their own. Your page holds an iframe, not a copy of the numbers, so a schedule that is re-indexed at the start of a financial year updates everywhere the same day it updates here. Two competitor calculators were still serving superseded NSW brackets when we checked them in September 2026, which is the failure this arrangement removes.
Does it collect anything about the people who use it?
No cookies are set and no personal data leaves the visitor’s browser: every figure is worked out on their own device. There is no analytics tag inside the frame and nothing is written to the address bar as they type, so you are not adding a third-party tracker to your site by pasting this in.
Can I restyle it, or change the numbers it shows?
Resize it freely and place it wherever it reads best. Altering the computed figures is the one thing to avoid — the whole point of the attribution is that a reader can check a result against its source, and an edited total makes that promise false. If the default width or height fights your template, say so and we will look at the layout.
Which one should a mortgage broker choose?
Usually LMI, because it answers the objection that stalls a conversation: what a smaller deposit actually costs. Conveyancers tend to prefer stamp duty, since itemising government charges is already their language. Buyer’s agents get the most out of capital gains tax and negative gearing, where the client question is whether a purchase stacks up at all.
